Photo Assignments, Please!

Hello there! I have a blog favor to ask.

I need blog photo assignments - do you want to see photos of something particular in St. Maarten? The progress on Blue Mall? Dawn Beach? The courthouse pineapple? Cows?

Its for my blog sanity. It'll provide structured and blog goal-oriented island exploration. I won't promise to follow every suggestion (because what if its icky?) but I will try. Please help by leaving your demands in the comments of this post.

P.S. The featured picture is courtesy of my boyfriend, who discovered that shooing a large cow out of an enclosed parking area is not as easy as it would at first appear. I very much appreciate that he had the presence of mind to take a photo for me to ruthlessly exploit for blog purposes :)

  1. I, in particular, enjoy your adventures in dining, which come with wonderfully captured photos and an enticing description of the dish. That line of thinking could also extend to drinks and who has the best Happy Hours. Neither of which are very "icky" :). For my own personal enjoyment I also love seeing shots of the various beaches on island - I am forever wondering "how" Cupecoy is doing ... Some pretty tough assignments I've suggested, I know. :)

  3. How about Bernadine and her kitties and puppies that she rescues? Some of those cats are quite photogenic!

  7. Oh, you KNOW what I'm going to ask for:

    COWS
Friar's beach (it's taken over Dawn as my favorite beach)
Colombier (ALWAYS appreciate pix of home)

Oh, and ANYTHING ELSE SXM. Except things that need a gibber warning. No thx on those!

  9. Thank you for posting pictures of SXM. I lived in Terres Basses from when I was 11 months to 2nd Grade. We left after Hurricane Luis. I attended M.A.C. (I believe?) in Simpson Bay. I know it had moved to another location, I think. It's been so long since my family has completely moved out from there but I will always have the wonderful memories of my mother's library store in Grand Case and my father's office in Marigot. Attending ballet class with Nicole Mouton and so much more. I am so glad you revived this blog with so many of these pictures.

  10. Hi Hortense - I am glad you found the blog and are enjoying it. I first came to the island in 1997 so missed some of the places you are talking about. A library store sounds really great! Thanks for commenting here, I'll keep posting pictures of the island and hope you enjoy them :)

  11. Awesome! It really brought me back when you posted about the Burger King finally not being the old bus. I can easily recall going there and playing with my sister after school. Here is a picture of my sister (blondie) and me (tongue sticking out) participating in the carnival:

Looks like we are living different lives now. I am now in FL and can't wait to visit St. Maarten one day!

  12. What a great photo - it must have been a kick to grow up here! If I even find an old photo of the BK bus I'll post it. I hope you get to visit SXM soon!
