Suddenly I saw some mongoose in the road. (Seriously, if you get icked out, do not scroll down).
They hid from me at first but when I didn't approach, they went about their business. Which turned out to be the business of eating a dead rat.
At first they were sharing nicely together, but then one decided to take off with most of the meal.
"Whatever. I've still got the head. Best part."

I have not seen a mongoose in ages!!
They used to freak me out when I was a kid visiting Anguilla. I saw more of them on that island. Maybe because it's flat and there's less foliage for them to hide in?
That could be true. Maybe less people also? I have only ever seen them in less thickly settled areas
They freak me out too, mostly because I once saw one fighting with a dog, and winning. They do not mess around!
